Meetings

I work in the meetings & hospitality industry. A well run meeting or convention is a beautiful sight to witness & behold. I work hard to help folks run effective meetings. So you know it is PAINFUL to sit through a poorly run meeting. Geez Louise!

Tiger Wood's apology - did it require a break in regular programming?

So, as many of you know, I work from home. So the tv is sometimes on for the white noise factor in the background. Today, ABC cut into its regular programming to show Tiger's statement live.
Yes, he was contrite and apologetic and overall, pretty sincere in his defense of his wife Elin and all that. Hopefully his statement achieved what he and his team wanted it to - a start on the road of a comeback.

My question - was it really necessary to show this speech live? And then - they (GMA hosts Robin R and George S) commentated on the speech like it was a political speech. Analyzed all the aspects of it, who all he addressed his speech to, his defense of Elin, his willingness to really go far in his contriteness of his actions....comparing it to other apology speeches and just go short of giving it a grade. Seriously? I just sat here in stupefied silence watching all that thinking "so unnecessary." But that's just me. What do you think?

I'm back.......

Hi everyone.

Yes, it's been almost a year since my last post. My love for fb has not abated in the least and becuase most of my family and friends are on fb, the micro-blogging has been easy and fun.

So, you ask, why are you back on your own blog? It is Lent. And for my Lenten committment, I have given up facebook! Yes, shocker for those of you who know me. And it's been challenging for the past two days as there have been so many interesting things to talk about. So, what I have decided to do is to put my random thoughts about stuff back on my blog. Come Easter, I'll share the link to this blog and everyone will know what's been up with me.

And for those of you who actually used to follow the blog and preferred it? Yahoo for you! I'll send a note to everyone (all 6 of you) that used to follow the blog so that you'll know what's up.

Now don't be do upset as the posts may be really short! The beauty of micro-blogging, for sure. But, they will still have that certain Cherai-ism to it.

Ciao for now!

Cherai's new niece Miya Noelle Lewis

Hi y'all.

Yes, it's been a minute (no a month) since I've been blogging. Part of the challenge has been that I discovered facebook and I LOVE facebook. It's so much easier to keep up with all my friends - most of who are on facebook. I've also gotten my entire family on fb, so that we can keep up with the latest pics of my NEW NIECE!!! I'm so excited. She was born on March 29th at 8:33 am. She weighed 6 lbs, 8 oz and was 19 inches long. I'll end this post with some photos b/c really - since her birth, I've been consumed with learning all about her. She's so cute.

Isn't she just the cutest? This is her in the operating room just coming into the world. As Laura says in one of her fb posts, Miya had to be evicted since she was just taking her sweet little old time coming on out of the womb. It was too cute!

Here is Miya all cleaned up and diapered up in the operating room.
and then here is Miya with her proud papa - and my lil bro Jeff.

Pictures on the blog - good for you but....

Hello all.

So, while it's fun to share photos on the blog to show you where I've been and what I've been up to, it's a pain b/c of the tiresome process:

First, you have to download the photos from the camera. And if you forgot your power cord for the digital camera, it really drains the battery. Those digital camera batteries are not cheap.

Once you have figured out where to place the photos on your PC, then you have to view each photo and name it! That can take forever, especially if you only download your photos every few months. Good grief!

Then you have to upload the photos to the blog and THEN put in the captions. TIME CONSUMING! I'm exhausted already.

So, please know that I do this just for you, my friends and family! This way, y'all don't call and/or email me with nasty messages to update the blog. It's getting there!

Owl on the Hotel Roosevelt in Seattle

So as I mentioned, there was this weird owl on the roof of the Roosevelt Building outside my hotel room. I was finally able to zoo in on the bird and could then see it was fake. But imagine looking at this outside my window and trying to figure this out. It was weird.

Just catching you up on things.
